Meet Gwen - Langley

Originally from France, I grew up with cats and dogs and have had my own dogs, including rescues which I trained. I have also shared horses and with over 20 years experience, I became a riding instructor. I started taking people out riding in Windsor great park after loosing my job during the pandemic, something I still do. It’s like being a tour guide in one of the most prestigious places in the world, on a horse! I am based in Langley in a 2 bed with a large secure garden and licensed by Slough council.

I worked in the corporate world for 20 years as a Head of People. I fell gravely ill in 2023 and when my HR contract ended the following year, I started dog walking to get my steps up and get out of the house! I soon realised that I could offer a greater service, such as dog boarding and that the mental health impact was hugely much more beneficial than I had anticipated! I’ve always loved animals, my family and friends nickname me Mrs Doolittle! My journey as a dog boarder started. Joining Hunter’s and being the first to be part of this adventure with Claire made total sense.

I am first aid trained and have completed my 3 days training with Hunters Dog Holidays.

What to expect when your dog boards with me

Following a successful meet and greet at my home, they would be walked 1 to 3 times a day, 2 short walks and one longer walk. However, rest assured, I will adapt to their physical needs, size and own routine. I have a large secure garden with agility equipment and a wooded area which is great for sniffy adventures.

The local park is only 10 min walk from me. Langley country park, Black Park, Windsor Great Park and Stag Meadow are only a short ride by car. Dogs would be walked either off the leash or on the leash depending on your consent. They'll get plenty of cuddles and kisses too! Treats are included if they're allowed!

Meet Melissa & Meadow - Burnham

My name is Melissa and I am delighted to be joining Hunters - Your dogs ultimate holiday and so looking forward to the initial training elements but eventually to caring for your furry friends whilst you take a break, knowing they will be loved home from home.

A little about me so you can make an informed choice and hopefully rest easy. I am a mum of two handsome and aspirational young men, a wife to Richard for 25 years and currently a PE teacher. However after 30+ years in the profession I have decided to change track and follow my dream of working with dogs.

I have always adored all four legged friends having enjoyed so many over the years. We recently welcomed Meadow our 4 month Labrador retriever to join Gus our 1 year old fluffy cat. Sadly we lost our beautiful lab Rosie very unexpectedly last year and despite the occasional tears still, as a family we feel complete again and ready for a few more visitors!

Whilst in my care your dogs will be treated as one of the family catering for their individual needs, whether that be extra cuddles, specific training or just understanding any niche requests. Living in Burnham for over 20 years I know so many fantastic walks all within a few minutes walk or a short car journey away. Favourites include Summerleaze, Jubilee river and of course Burnham Beeches. The choice is very much yours when it comes to length of stay, including a simple sleepover if you fancy a night out. I can even drop them to Claire’s Comfy Canines the next morning if it coincides with their usual day. A trial visit would be required prior to longer stays to ensure everyone is content. Can’t wait to meet you and of course your lovely dogs
